Rip Currents
Some very sad news, a group of young adults and teens lost there lifes whilst swimming at Qued Cherrt river mouth on Sunday (5 drowned and 6 are missing).
Some of the guest will know the spot, its where we go when the surf is really small, you ll also know we use the rip to get out the back as its super strong. Sadley this is where and why the swimmers got in to trouble.
I often show our beginners this little clip, what to do when you get stuck in a rip current.
Rip curretnts need to be understood and respected but when used and understood in the correct many they can actually aid surfers and help you get in postion out the back.
